About Merv Russell
Merv Russell from Philadelphia, PA is an illustrator of modern abstract cityscape art. For the first 8 years of his life, Merv's father was the sexton of All Saints Church in Wynnewood PA, where they lived inside the Episcopalian Church. As a child he was surrounded and fascinated by all types of Gothic designs, stained glass windows, a huge pipe organ and paintings throughout the church. As a teenager in high school, he studied drafting and photography and was always taking pictures of Philadelphia and considered a career as an architect or photographer, but instead joined the military, later becoming a nurse.
